WinThermo - Thermal Barrier That Actually Works
Winthermo is the answer to three major van life challenges: condensation on windows, lack of privacy, and insects entering through open windows. One product, three functions that previously required separate solutions.
We designed Winthermo to give you simple control over temperature, light, and airflow in your van. No compromises. Our thermal window blind features ONDUTERM insulation sewn into our iconic kordura fabric. The thermal insulation is fully removable when you don't need it. Beneath the blind you'll find a mosquito net mounted on a YKK zipper that works independently. Around 35 neodymium magnets allow you to close it like an accordion – partially or completely, in 3 seconds.
Blackout and Privacy on Magnets
Around 35 neodymium magnets built into the thermal cover allow you to close it like an accordion with one motion. Open it just as quickly. No pulling cords, no cassette blinds, no hassle.
When you want to darken your van – you do it in 3 seconds. When you need light – roll up the blind and secure it with snap buttons.
Mosquito Net That Lasts
Mosquito net mounted on YKK zipper. The same standard used by expedition tent manufacturers. It will withstand hundreds of openings and closings.
When you don't need the mosquito net – roll it up. You have full, unrestricted access to the window without dismantling the entire system.
Universal
Winthermo creates an insulating air layer between the glass and the vehicle interior. This minimizes water condensation on windows and protects against window freezing from the inside.
You wake up in a dry van, instead of starting your day wiping down fogged-up windows.
Thoughtful Installation
Winthermo is mounted on rivet nuts installed around the factory window. The thermal cover is attached with snap buttons – when you don't need the blind, you remove it in a few seconds. In summer you can use only the mosquito net, and when it gets cooler, add the thermal cover.
Lightweight and Durable
The system is lightweight yet very durable, so it doesn't add significant weight to your vehicle.
Noise Reduction by 4 Decibels
The additional layer of material dampens sounds from outside. It's the difference between sleeping next to a road and sleeping in a forest.
4 decibels means less parking lot noise, less rain noise, less sounds from the neighboring campsite.
Winthermo Can Be Used in Many Ways
One system, dozens of configurations – depending on what you need at any given moment.
1.
Full Window Access - You've unclipped the thermal blind and stored it away. You've rolled up the mosquito net. You have a clear view, full light, direct access to the window. Perfect for driving when you don't need any protection.
2.
Ventilation Without Insects - Thermal blind removed or clipped up with snap buttons. Mosquito net deployed on YKK zipper. Air circulates freely, insects stay outside. Classic setup for a summer evening.
3.
Partial Blackout - You lower the thermal blind to half or three-quarters of the window height – magnets hold it exactly where you want. You have shade, privacy, but still access to fresh air from above. Great for an afternoon nap in the heat.
4.
Full Insulation - Thermal blind fully deployed, magnets sealed around the frame. Maximum thermal barrier, blackout, noise reduction, zero visibility from outside. Setup for a winter night or city parking.

Sewn in Van Der Moon Factory
Our Moon Boxes and Moon Organizers have traveled millions of kilometers in vans around the world. After years of intensive use, they still hold their shape, still close properly, still serve their purpose. Winthermo is sewn exactly the same way. Same materials, same standards, same seamstress, same quality control. We produce things that will travel with you for thousands of kilometers.
Winthermo Installation
Position Winthermo in the window opening in the target position. Through the prepared eyelets (6 mm grommets), mark with a marker the first three points: two extreme points at the top and one center point. Set Winthermo aside, drill holes with a drill bit matched to your chosen rivet nuts and tighten them with a rivet nut tool. Attach Winthermo to the three installed rivet nuts using bolts.
Now trace the remaining mounting points through the remaining eyelets. Unscrew Winthermo, drill the remaining holes and tighten the rivet nuts. Finally, screw Winthermo in at all mounting points – done.
Note: Rivet nuts and bolts are not included in the kit. We recommend M5 or M6 rivet nuts and matching bolts.
Required tools: Drill, rivet nut tool, screwdriver or drill driver, marker.
